Last night I saw Elton in concert. Just Elton and his piano. He played for three solid hours NON STOP. The first thing I must say about this man is that he is an INCREDIBLE PERSON AND HUMAN BEING. I got an e-mail from my English professor last night informing me that he is leaving school. This wouldn't bother me so much except that our main professor just left two weeks ago, out of nowhere.
I wanted to tell my English how I really felt (and not all the cursing I did at him as my immediate response) and being the creative people that English professors are, it was kind of intimidating.
I found the perfect song for him/us but I wanted him to understand how much songs say to me. I depend on them to express my feelings sometimes, like now. And I wanted to preface it with Elton John's song: Sad Songs (Say So Much).

Where do you get all these lyrics? Especially from albums never released?? I am trying to become a devoted fan of Elton's and I'm having a hell of a time looking for his older CD's. I think that his 1970 album is one of his best and I can't seem to find anything preceding it. Please, if you can, let me know where I can get these albums. I'm looking for "Ego" currently, which I guess they just don't make any more?

Thank you so much for your great site & especially your discography! I'm still on a "concert high" from EJ's performance in St. Louis last Saturday. As a result I've been surfing on-line autions for EJ memorabilia. One had the CD Story Teller from when he performed at The House of Blues in New Orleans about a year or so ago but it was listed as a "rare import". The concert was simulcast (sp?) on a local station and I enjoyed the performance. I didn't know that it was what is called a bootleg cd until I looked at your site.

My wife and I were in Fresno last night to see EJ on his second night of his solo tour. All I can say is "He's still got it!" The first time I saw him was over 25 years ago at the Hollywood Bowl and though it lacked the flambouncy of Elton concerts of my youth, he made up for it with a playlist that made a longtime fan happy. He played for over 3 hours and started off with Your Song and went back to the Empty Sky album for Skyline Pigeon. He played songs that true EJ fans would enjoy and the only problem was the rude SOB's around me that talked through the songs that they didn't recognize. All the kept yelling was "play Crocodile Rock" all night long. He actually did play it eventually and he did it as it was originally issued, not as a ballad like he did when touring with Ray Cooper a few (Oh my God, it's been 5 years) ago! Anyway this was the 10th time that I've seen him play and the show is definately worth seeing if you can get tickets!

Just had to write and tell you how wonderful it was to find a website as neat and as complete as yours. I just got back from one of Elton's solo concerts in Bakersfield, CA. He played and enchanted us for over 2 1/2 hours... an experience I will never forget.
I've been a fan since Elton played in T Rex!!! He's even in a video with the band performing "bang la gong"! Although 'Your Song' may have broken him into the US seen, my favorite will always be 'Daniel'; I was 14.
Elton is a true genius.

Hey Dave...Just wanted to drop you a short line to thank you for doing such a great home page of Elton.You had to put many many hours into this.I considered myself a pretty good Elton John authority especially on his earlier stuff,but I was wrong.I learned MUCH from your great page.Elton was my biggest influence growing up.The first album I bought of him in 71 was friends and later got goodbye yellow brick road which is my favorite album of all time.I've worn out 2 LP copies and now have it on CD.I just never seem to get tired of it.I have a classic rock band here in Parkerburg W.Va called HitnRun.I do alot of Elton John in my shows so I have a GREAT appreciation for he and Bernie.Thanks

My 7 year old son Rocco takes piano lessons since he was 4 and a half and he adores Elton John's music. He wants to grow up to play piano just like Elton John he says. I used to have the 8 track of Captain Fantastic when I was about 12 years old and I have had the disk since it was released on CD. I was listening to the Fantastic disk and I realized that after so many years of listening to that first song I didn't really know what he was saying. Well I found your site and was so pleased to find your lyrics section. How great, you are at the top of my favorites! Older Elton songs are a bit hard to make out the words sometimes. I don't know if the album had any lyrics because I only had the "nice price" CD (along with about 15 other Elton CD's) and the 8 track so I never had any access to the words. Thanks again for the great lyrics section. I noticed while listening to the song and reading the lyrics that it is interesting how Elton sings the song and breaks up some of the verses differently than it was written by Bernie. After all this time I finally, fully understand the song because I know all of the words.

Happy New Year and thanks for the lyrics-Mama Can't Buy You Love! I have looked all over for it. I like Elton John and actually have a book with the complete lyrics of Elton John and Bernie Taupin! I got it for only $4.00 at a going out of bussiness book store sale! It has art work and everything; However, some songs were not written by Elton or Bernie. Anyway, nice page and thanks again!
